The mayor of Florida, Rodolfo Carter, called on the representatives of the commune not to send their children to face-to-face classes, if they do not have the complete vaccine schedule against Covid-19, for this March 2, The day that the first fully face-to-face school year begins since the start of the pandemic.
Boys and girls from the age of 3 onwards can be inoculated, but not all parents have taken their children to complete the scheme. This is why Carter called for these children not to return to school and continue studying online, because they are more likely to get seriously ill because they do not have all the vaccines.
“We want to ask the parents and guardians of those children who do not have their complete vaccination schedule, according to what is indicated by the Ministry of Health, to refrain from sending their children to classes and continue telematically. Why do we say it? Because a fully vaccinated child has much less chance of becoming seriously infected than one who is not fully vaccinated,” said the community chief through the municipality’s social networks.
He added that “no authority, no mayor, is going to replace the love of a responsible father, mother or guardian who vaccinates their children in a timely manner.”
