Five months after the controversial presidential elections of July 28 and just hours before the end of the year, a common wish for the country resonates among a large part of Venezuelans: that in 2025 the popular will is respected.
The results of a consultation carried out between December 19 and 22 by SuchWhich next to The Impulse (Lara), The Nation (Táchira), Yaracuy a Day (Yaracuy), The Time (Anzoategui), Caroní Mail (Bolivar), Diary The truth (Zulia), Runrunes (Miranda) and The Morning (Falcon) showed that the majority of citizens He hopes that what was expressed at the polls during the presidential elections will be respected, in addition to a peaceful political transition.
The question was What is your greatest wish for the country in 2025? and the answer options: that the popular will be respected, that all political prisoners be released, that there be a peaceful political transition, that the economic situation of the country improves. Although the percentages were different in each region, the majority of citizens agreed on one option.
The consultations were made through social networks (Instagram, WhatsApp and Telegram) and also on the street: in the Municipal Market of Coro, Falcón, and in the Teófilo Domínguez and Bolívar squares, in San Felipe, Yaracuy. 2,441 readers participated.

Respect for the popular will
Those consulted by The Truth Newspaper, andIn Zulia, there were 292 Venezuelans who responded through the social networks Instagram and Telegram.
In the case of Instagram, 87 Internet users participated, of which 29 (33%) prefer that there be a peaceful political transition. This was almost on par with the option of respecting the popular will, for which 28 people (32%) voted.
About 20 users (24%) want the economic situation to improve and 10 (11%) chose that all political prisoners be released.
In the case of Telegram, there were 205 votes in total, of which 83 (41%) were for the popular will to be respected, 69 (34%) for the country’s economy to improve, 50 (24%) for there to be a political transition and 3 votes (1%) for the freedom of political prisoners.
In Bolívar, the Caroní Mail conducted its survey through WhatsApp groups, and 418 citizens participated. 38.7% (162 votes) want, as the main thing, respect for the popular will. 22% (92 votes) want a peaceful transition, 20.33% (85 votes) want the economy to improve and 19% (79 votes) prefer the freedom of all political prisoners.
Runrunes consulted 896 people via Telegram. Of that total, 450 (50%) consider that respect for the popular will is their greatest wish for 2025. This is followed by the wish for a peaceful political transition, which reached 311 votes (35%), both of which are related to the political issue. .
The third option with the most votes was the desire for the economic situation to improve, which obtained 96 endorsements (11%). Finally, 39 people (4%) expressed their desire for the release of political prisoners.
Likewise, 175 readers of SuchWhich, Caracas, participated in the same survey via WhatsApp. Of them, 133 (76%) want the will of Venezuelans expressed on July 28 to be fulfilled, which gives a result with a large majority.
Some 21 people (12%) hope for a peaceful political transition, 12 (6.86%) for the economy to improve and 9 (5.14%) for the release of political prisoners.
In Falcón they want a change of government
In the case of Falcon, The Morning He made his consultation on the street, in the Coro Municipal Market and Manaure Avenue. Of the 55 passersby who participated, the majority, 20 votes (36.36%), stated that their wish is a change of government.
In second place, the economic improvement of the country was positioned (32.73%), with 18 votes, in third place was respect for the popular will (16.36%), nine votes, and, finally, the freedom of prisoners for political reasons (14.55%), with eight votes.
The results of The Impulsein Lara, showed a clear trend. Of the 97 Internet users who voted on Telegram, 42% (41 votes) want what was expressed in the last elections to be respected.
29% (28 votes) aspire to economic improvement, 24% (23 votes) to a peaceful transition and 5% (5 votes) to the release of political prisoners.
In the case of Táchira, The Nation consulted 100 users in a WhatsApp group. The option with the most votes, 38, was that there be a peaceful political transition (38%), then that the economic situation of the country improves (31%), with 31 votes; that the popular will be respected, with 27 (27%), and that all political prisoners be released with four votes (4%).
Anzoátegui wants improvements in the economy
On the other hand, 359 Anzoatiguenses asked about The Timeon Instagram, participated in the survey. Of that total, 120 (33.42%) aspire to improvements in the economy, which represents a variation compared to the responses of those consulted in other parts of the country.
Some 105 people (29.24%) want respect for the popular will, 91 (25.34%) a peaceful transition and 43 (12%) the freedom of those detained for political reasons.
A similar variation occurred in Yaracuy. Of the 49 surveyed by Yaracuy Al Día in the Teófilo Domínguez and Bolívar squares, in San Felipe, 20 (40.8%) expect the economy to improve.
Some 14 people (28.6%) chose that there be a peaceful political transition, 10 (20.4%) that the popular will be respected and 5 (10.2%) that all political prisoners be released.
Although in some states there was disparity in responses, in others the survey results were close. However, most users agree that their biggest wish for the next year is that the will of the Venezuelans expressed in the elections of July 28 be respected.
The National Electoral Council (CNE) granted a controversial victory to President Nicolás Maduro, which was later ratified by the Supreme Court of Justice (TSJ); However, the official result is questioned by members of the international community and by the Democratic Unitary Platform (PUD), which affirms that its standard bearer, Edmundo González Urrutia, was the winner of the elections and by a wide margin.
