The General Directorate of Revenue (DGI) and the Authority for Consumer Protection and Defense of Competition (Acodeco) materialized an inter-institutional agreement to reinforce inspections in businesses.
With this agreement, of an indefinite nature, Acodeco will make 70 of its inspectors available to help the DGI in the review of the issuance of the electronic invoice in the different businesses or points of sale where the Itbms needs to be paid, the value of which is of 7%.
Ramón Abadi Balid, administrator of Acodeco, pointed out that the agreement comes at a time when “we have enough signs of evasions and, obviously, this should not be normalized. We are going to work together because we have to establish order, so starting today in the Albrook Mall, operations began with the DGI and Acodeco personnel.”
The Acodeco administrator recalled that during their operations they only drew up reports for non-compliance with bill payments, payment of 7% or discounts to retirees and others, within the different businesses. Now, with the collaboration of the DGI, he highlighted, it is being strengthened that every time the Acodeco registers a report, a fine will be filed, thus giving “immediacy” in the sanction for non-compliance.
It is recommended that businesses comply with the legislation, which is “quite simple” or approach the DGI or Acodeco to find out if they are complying with the requirements, such as: the visibility of the “Demand your invoice” sign; certification on the type of billing system used by the taxpayer, whether fiscal equipment or electronic invoice; The delivery of the invoice to customers is part of the aspects that businesses must comply with and that inspectors will be willing to verify that they are met.
