Portuguese striker Cristiano Ronaldo said this Friday, during the Globe Soccer awards gala in Dubai, that Real Madrid’s Brazilian Vinicius Jr “deserved the Ballon d’Or.”

“Vinicius deserved the Ballon d’Or. He won the ‘Champions’ and his performance in the final was very good. That’s why I believe more in these awards,” he said, referring to the Globe Soccer Awards, in which he was awarded as the best player in the Middle East and the top scorer in history.

The Brazilian from Real Madrid could not win the Ballon d’Or, which went to the Spaniard Rodri Hernández, but he made up for it by being recognized at the FIFA The Best awards and, this Friday, at the Globe Soccer Awards.

Furthermore, Cristiano Ronaldo was grateful for the awards received this Friday in Dubai: “It is a pleasure to be here. It is very different from the others. It is a pleasure to be at this gala. It means a lot. Many generations. This motivates me to continue marking goals and be better. Thanks to my family for supporting me all the time to continue playing. I am going to continue because I want to continue scoring goals and winning things for my club and my team.”

“I would like to be champion this year of the (Saudi) league because I have won in all the leagues I have been in,” declared the Portuguese, now in the ranks of Saudi Al Nassr.
