Edenorte dismantles illegal connections in two businesses

The Company Distributor of Electricity of the North (Edenorte Dominican Republic) reported this Thursday the dismantling of illegal electrical connections in two commercial establishments in Santiago, as part of an operation carried out by its Electrical Fraud Department.

He stated that the first case was allegedly registered in Fashion Rent Car, located on Víctor Espaillat Mera Avenue, near the Cibao International Airport, “where an illegal connection was discovered that violated the meter panel.”

“In the second case, in the establishment Banking Chan Sports, the authorities found a direct connection to another user’s meter, a practice that is equally illicit and violates the regulations of the national electrical system,” the entity indicated in a press release.

He added: “Both cases represented not only damage to the energy distribution system, but also a serious risk to the safety of the community.”

Edenorte He said that, after the findings, he immediately disconnected the supply electricity of both premises and announced that it initiated corresponding legal actions against those responsible.

The company reiterated its commitment to combat fraud electric and urged citizens to report any suspicious activity related to the irregular use of the electricityhighlighting that these practices affect the quality of service and put everyone’s safety at risk.
