He Kirchnerism has suffered a new loss in its ranks with the departure of the Santa Fe deputy Roberto Mirabella, who has decided to abandon the Unión por la Patria (UxP) bloc to form a monobloc called “Defendamos Santa Fe.”
This movement has generated a great stir in the political sphere, since Mirabella has been a prominent member of Peronism in Santa Fe and his decision reflects the growing internal tensions within the party and the Kirchnerism.
Roberto Mirabella, who came to the National Congress with the support of former governor Omar Perotti, announced his decision through his social networks and formalized his departure through a letter addressed to the president of the ruling bloc, Germán Martínez.
In his statement, Mirabella explained that his decision is based on profound differences with the priorities and approaches of the ruling bloc, which according to him, are focused on the Buenos Aires suburbs and on leadership that he considers anchored in the past.
Mirabella has stressed the need to prioritize the interests of Santa Fe above the national guidelines of the Justicialista Party (PJ). In his message, the deputy stated that the differences with the bloc have reached a critical point, especially with regard to the political agenda.
“The differences in priorities and visions with my current bloc have reached a point where I feel that, if I continue within it, I would not fulfill the mandate that the people of Santa Fe gave me, which is the defense of Santa Fe,” said Mirabella.

The legislator also expressed his rejection of what he called “partisan obedience” and stressed that his opposition to Javier Milei, leader of La Libertad Avanza, is based on the needs of the territory he represents and not on the PJ’s strategies at the national level.
“My obedience is with Santa Fe and this forces me to create a new space where the priorities of the people of Santa Fe are treated as essential and not as secondary,” he said. The relationship between Mirabella and the current president of the ruling bloc, Germán Martínez, has been cordial in personal terms, but marked by political tensions. Mirabella never fully agreed with Martínez, identified as a “soldier” of Agustín Rossi, leading the bloc. Rossi, former defense minister and key figure in the Kirchnerism in Santa Fe, represents one of the main internal currents of Peronism in the province, in contrast to the sector led by former governor Omar Perotti, with whom Mirabella maintains a greater affinity.
