The Colombian Institute of Family Welfare (ICBF) is an entity of the Colombian State created to protect and promote the well-being of early childhood, childhood, adolescence and families in Colombia. The Community Welfare Homes (HCB) are one of the most important social programs that Colombia has.not only for the work they do, but also for the care they provide to vulnerable populations.
It seeks to benefit:
-Boys and girls from 6 months to 5 7 years of age.
-Care can also be provided in Family HCBs to boys and girls from 3 months to 6 months who are in a vulnerable situation or who do not have a support network for their care.
-In a Family Community Home, a maximum of 2 boys or girls between 6 months and eighteen 18 months can be cared for.
-In the case in which a child with a disability is cared for, a boy or girl in the age range of 6 months to eighteen 18 months will be cared for.

Care will be provided in the Family HCB to boys and girls between 6 months and 7 years old.

In these spaces, educational agents who, previously trained, are responsible for the care and attention of a group made up of 12 to 14 boys and girls. With more than 69,000 educational agents, HCBs serve more than a million children in Colombia.
Some of its objectives are:
-Promote the psychosocial and physical development of children in conditions of poverty.
-Support families in proper parenting and prevent child abuse.

What are the requirements for registration?
-Photocopy of the ID of the parents or guardians of the child.
-Photocopy of the child’s civil registration.
-Presentation of the vaccination card.
-Certification of the Sisbén classification.
It is required to meet one of the following targeting criteria:
– Boys and girls, children of families who are victims of displacement.
– Boys and girls Identified by the United Network.
– Boys and girls in the established age range, belonging to households whose Sisbén score is equal to or lower than the new cut-off points defined for early childhood.
