The Minister of Public Works, Services and Housing, Edgar Montaño, He questioned the silence of former authorities during the administration of Evo Morales for the sexist and “bad taste” jokes about women that the former president made in press conferences and meetings.
“Let Evo Morales refuse. In the meetings he had, even with the press, he would tell his supposed jokes saying: ‘women have come to offer themselves so that they can have a child with me’, he said, but what he didn’t say was whether they were minors or adults, and everyone laughed, the press was a witness,” Montaño said.
The head of the Public Works portfolio also stated that the then Ministers of Government and Justice, of the Morales administration, Carlos Romero and Héctor Arce, respectively, should have investigated these jokes.
“About those insinuations and jokes that Evo Morales made, without even blushing, that is where his (former) Minister of Justice, the (former) Minister of Government, Carlos Romero, should act. Where were they, did they shut up? Where, then, was the Intelligence of the Police and also of the Armed Forces?” Montaño questioned.
He also questioned the silence of the former presidents of the Chamber of Senators and Chamber of Deputies, José Alberto “Gringo” Gonzales and Gabriela Montaño, respectively.
“We listened (to Evo) and thought it was a bad joke and I looked at him out of the corner of my eye, surprised by his statements. “Now that Evo Morales refuses and you will find (those statements) in the videos that the press has,” Montaño said and accused Morales of having “alpha male” attitudes.
A couple of days ago, President Luis Arce recalled, during a meeting with journalists, that Since the 2019 campaign, voters already knew about the alleged cases of pedophilia of which former President Morales is accused.
“In the 2019 campaign that we had to do to help Evo Morales, they also called us a pedophile. If they yelled at us, people perceived that that was the case. We have heard it, personally they told me that in 2020 in the campaign we ran,” said Arce.
