Woman with a tumor on her face will not be operated on at the IPS and seeks an alternative in Argentina

Juana Mercado, who has a tumor on her face, was going to undergo surgery at the IPS, but finally the surgeon told her that he could not perform the procedure. After this refusal, the woman seeks the possibility of undergoing surgery in Argentina.

On February 10, a medical board had approved that Juana be operated on, since she is not insured by the social security system, a study of her case was made and through an agreement with the Ministry of Health, an agreement was reached to perform the surgery.

However, the doctor who had to do the job, Dr. Rafael Monzón, did not participate in this meeting and now that he was summoned to learn about the operation, he himself said that the surgery recommended for Juana’s case is not his specialty.

“Unfortunately I lost all this time due to incompetence. I visited all the hospitals since 2020, when I could no longer ask the press for help. Now three to four months have passed and still I still don’t get results,” said Juana in a conversation with Universo 970.

He said that he will be in talks with authorities from the Ministry of Health to see the possibility of performing the surgery abroad, specifically in Argentina.

He also mentioned that in addition to his physical condition, he already has deteriorated mental health and is undergoing psychological treatment.
