This Monday, in an extraordinary session of El Peruano, the resignation of the Minister of Transport and Communications, John Silvawho presented his resignation to said position minutes before the vote in Congress on the motion of censure against him.
In Supreme Resolution 106-2022-PCM, Silva Villegas’s resignation from the MTC is accepted and “thanks for the services provided to the Nation.” The legal device bears the signatures of President Pedro Castillo and the head of the ministerial cabinet, Aníbal Torres.
Juan Silva resigned, even though in the afternoon, he ruled out leaving the Transport and Communications office after the declaration before the Prosecutor’s Office of the aspiring effective collaborator Karelim Lópezwho accused him of being part of an alleged criminal organization.

“I want to tell the Peruvian people that the Minister of Transportation is here, free from the accusations that were made by the media last night, that is why I want to categorically reject these accusations,” said the former head of the MTC at a press conference.
In this wheel Silva Villegas also denied knowing López Arredondo and the former secretary of the Palacio Bruno Pacheco, who would also be part of the alleged criminal network that the president would lead from the House of Pizarro.
“I don’t even know who he is, he has never worked with me, he has never shared anything with me, I know that character because he has been in the Palace and I know absolutely nothing about his things. His problem, if he has problems, let the justice see him,” he said.

In relation to Karelim López, the former minister maintained that “she has had contracts with the MTC in previous years and must have a relationship with some officials here.”
“By that nature it must be that he has information. Understand that she does not know me and I do not know her, and of a person I do not know I should not mention her name, out of respect, “she added.
