Mininter modifies PNP promotion resolutions: What happened?

He Home Office modified on Tuesday the resolutions that make promotions to the rank of Major official
of Weapons of the National Police of Peruas well as that of Service Majors to the rank of Services Commander.

Through Ministerial Resolution No. 1867-2024-IN, article 1 of RM No. 1847-2024-IN was modified, which formalized promotions to the rank of Major of Arms of the National Police of Peru.

The president highlighted the country’s economic growth and avoided mentioning citizen insecurity, one of the main criticisms of her government.

The document indicates that the changes occur because in the resolution issued on December 20, only up to position 162 of those promoted was recorded, when it should have been up to position 265.

“Resolves: To partially modify article 1 of Ministerial Resolution No. 1847-2024-IN of December 20, 2024, which formalizes the promotion to the rank of Major of Arms of the National Police of Peru, dated January 1, 2025 , to the Captains of Arms who reached a vacancy in the promotion process through the competition of Superior Officers of Arms and Services of the National Police of Peru, of the Year 2024 – Promotion 2025”, indicates the resolution.

Likewise, through Ministerial Resolution No. 1868-2024-IN, article 2 of RM No. 1846-2024-IN was partially modified, which formalizes the promotion of Service Majors to the rank of Commander of Police Services. National of Peru.

The change occurred because it was omitted to be assigned to position No. 5 on the promotion list and it was only assigned up to position No. 4. In that sense, Rudy Martín Hinojosa Chacón was not included, who reached a vacancy in promotion to the rank of Commander of Services in the specialty of lawyer.

“It is observed that in Ministerial Resolution No. 1846-2024-IN (…) only positions 01 to 04 appear, and must be up to Position 05, as established in Ministerial Resolution No. 1488-2024-IN of 02DEC2024, which resolved to APPROVE the merit table of the promotion process by competition of Senior Weapons and Services Officers of the National Police of Peru of the Year 2024 – Promotion 2025”, indicates the document.

Both resolutions bear the signature of the Minister of the Interior, Juan José Santiváñez.
