From December 27 to 29, Cali, the renowned ‘Sports Capital of Colombia and America’, will be the setting for the 2024 Sports Fair, an event that brings together Cali residents and visitors around exhibitions, competitions and free activities that celebrate diversity of sport.
With its epicenter at the Jaime Aparicio Sports Unit and the Suroriental Highway, this event promises to become an unforgettable experience for the whole family.
The activities will begin on Thursday, December 26, with the International Chess Tournament and the Futsal Championship, at the Sports Unit and the Evangelista Mora Coliseum, respectively.
An agenda full of sport and emotion
Friday, December 27 marks the official start of the Sports Fair with a showcase of emerging disciplines such as parkour, calisthenics, skateboarding and BMX, as well as inclusive sports such as sitting volleyball and teqball.
Martial arts, artistic gymnastics and sand combat on the beach volleyball courts are also part of the initial program.
Saturday the 28th will be the most anticipated day, with emblematic competitions that promise to be a spectacle:
- Cycling Grand Prix: Great cyclists such as Egan Bernal, Sergio Luis Henao and Santiago Buitrago will demonstrate their talent in a circuit that will run along the Suroriental highway. This event, in alliance with the Járlinson Pantano Foundation, is a tribute to the Colombian cycling tradition.
- Skating Grand Prix: More than 300 skaters will compete in the speed and road tests in 2K, 6K and 15K categories. Among the participants, world champions such as Luz Karime Garzón, Yisel Camila Giraldo and Jacobo Mantilla stand out.
- 4.2K Athletic Race: Under the motto “Cali is where you should be”, this race will bring together 5,000 participants who will travel through the main arteries of the city, starting from the Southeast Highway and culminating at the Alberto Galindo Pools.
Sport for all tastes
During the three days of the Fair, attendees will be able to enjoy exhibitions of traditional sports such as boxing, field tennis and sports dance, as well as urban disciplines such as break dancing, ultimate and cheerleading.
These activities seek to highlight local talent and promote sports practice in all corners of the District.
Felipe Montoya, Secretary of Sports and District Recreation, expressed his enthusiasm: “The 2024 Sports Fair is a gift for the city. We are prepared to offer a varied programming that combines emotion, inclusion and entertainment. Cali is, without a doubt, the place where you should be this end of the year.”

The 2024 Sports Fair promises to close the year with energy, celebrating the achievements of Colombian sports and opening space for new generations.
