The Permanent Commission of the Congress of the Republic will meet this Friday, December 27, to evaluate opinions on bills that appear on the Agenda and on the agenda of the Parliament.
As recalled, the Plenary Session of Congress approved on Friday, December 13, the legislative resolution that grants the Permanent Commission the power to legislate between December 16, 2024 and February 28, 2025.
Using this power, the president of Congress, Eduardo Salhuana, called the session for 9 am and it will be blended in the Chamber.
The opinions that will be debated are that of Bill 6096, which seeks to modify Decree Law 25844, Electrical Concessions Law. This initiative seeks to implement Smart Metering Systems and eliminates the reconnection charge due to power outages.
Likewise, Bill 7041 will also be debated, which proposes to modify Legislative Decree 774, Income Tax Law, with the objective of regulating the payment of taxes for the rental of real estate. In addition, Bill 7588 will be evaluated, which seeks to modify Law 28587, to regulate the report of credit denial.
And projects 1348 and 2268 will be seen, which aim to modify the Penal Code to implement productive prisons.
Likewise, proposals that seek to strengthen the fight against corruption in the prison system and propose measures to reduce overcrowding. In addition, regulations that propose modifying the calculation of profits for lower-income workers and expanding the percentage of participation of workers in the profits of electrical industrial companies.
What is the Permanent Commission?
The Permanent Commission is a body of Congress that has a special organizational regime. It is made up of no less than 20 congressmen elected by the Plenary, maintaining the proportionality of the number of parliamentarians for each bench.
This commission is chaired by the president of Congress and exercises its constitutional functions during the ordinary functioning of Congress, as well as during its recess.
In the event that Congress is constitutionally dissolved, the Permanent Commission may not be dissolved.
The president of Congress submits for consideration by the Plenary Session of Congress the list of congressmen proposed to join the Permanent Commission five business days after the installation of the first annual period of sessions.
