Emecista Royfid Torres also defended the appointment, as he said the proposal presented by Mayor Luján is distinguished by a vision where justice is not limited to punishment, but focuses on repairing damage and building peace. Mayor Luján – who is part of one of the most influential families in Morena – was for eight months the head of the Institute of Security and Social Services of State Workers (ISSSTE), but with the arrival of Claudia Sheinbaum she left the position, and now Martí Batres occupies it.

The sister of the new head of the Prosecutor’s Office, Luisa María Alcalde, is the president of Morena and previously was the Secretary of the Interior and of Labor and Social Welfare.
Both are daughters of Bertha Luján Uranga and Arturo Alcalde Justiniani. The first is a figure identified as very close to former President López Obrador since he was head of Government in CDMX, and the second is also with the movement of the so-called “Fourth Transformation” in everything related to the labor sector, since he was one of the drafters of the initiative that eliminated outsourcing and was promoted by López Obrador.
