The Delegate Commission of the National Assembly unanimously approved this Monday the authorization to designate Stella Lugo as extraordinary and plenipotentiary ambassador of Venezuela to Mexico.
During the session held at the Federal Legislative Palace, headed by the president of Parliament, deputy Jorge RodrĂguez, the Permanent Commission on Foreign Policy, Sovereignty and Integration presented the report on the request made by the chancellor, Yván Gil.
The second vice president of the aforementioned commission, deputy Roy Daza, was in charge of presenting the report through which the request for authorization was made to the National Assembly for the president of the Republic, Nicolás Maduro, to carry out the designation “of in accordance with what is enshrined in articles 187 paragraph 14 and 236 paragraph 15 of the Constitution of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela.”
Daza highlighted Lugo’s experience in the diplomatic field and commented that the commission discussed “the coincidence of political development currently in Mexico, what is called the revolution of consciousness, and what is the process that is leading today in our country.” President Nicolás Maduro.”
“We interpret that this appointment of Dr. Stella Lugo represents a very important point for the development and promotion of our relations with our Mexican brothers and sisters,” he said.

Appreciation of Mexico
For his part, the president of the National Assembly reported that he had the approval granted by Mexico, through its Ministry of Foreign Affairs, to Lugo to be designated as Venezuela’s ambassador in that country.
“As Deputy Daza said, we interpret this as a gesture of deepening integration between our people, our Governments, in the search for a solution to the problems that drive our populations, which is mainly the fight against poverty, violence and the defense of the independence, integration and sovereignty of our people,” he expressed.
RodrĂguez stressed that Mexico has shown signs of decency, bravery, sovereignty, independence and “those are values ​​with which we are widely consubstantiated.” Likewise, he spoke about the importance of union and integration, without guardianship of any kind, to lead America to the “future of splendor” that it deserves.
Lugo previously served as Venezuela’s ambassador to Argentina.
