The president of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, Nicolás Maduro, led the Christian Meeting in Prayer for Venezuela, an event in which he shared with Christian pastors in an emotional prayer of thanksgiving.
“We are in a wonderful time, I appreciate this prayer of thanks, which we needed. Because we have been in permanent prayer throughout the year, which has been a year of victory, of truth, of justice and love, the fundamental values that changed human civilization,” said the president.
He commented that he admires “the faith, the capacity for work, the capacity for service, I admire the Christian churches’ ability to go look for those who suffer. The words that you have brought us come from a deep faith. I admire you, men and women of the Christian churches of this country; “I love them very much.”
“I am David and I will defeat Goliath with the blessings of the people… I am loyal to the people, and because I am from the people I can recognize the dignity that you have,” said the president while remembering that all the people are accompanied to be sworn in on the next 10 of January.
“If someone wants to build an authentically human society, with values, strengthened, as we want in Venezuela (…) they have to look for those values in Christ the Redeemer, who never discriminated against anyone,” he stated.
