Starting January 1 of next year, the officer born in Cotahuasi, province of La Uniónwill replace PNP General Colin Sim Galván, who was moved to the head of the Police Inspectorate.
The new Chief of Police has been in the rank of general for a year and served as director of administration of the National Police of Peru, previously he was in charge of the leadership of the Traffic Accident Division.

The officer pointed out that the PNP has a vehicle fleet of 22,316 units.made up of 9,699 trucks, 10,025 motorcycles, and 1,381 cars, of which only around 10,000 are operational. He added that more than 66 thousand pistols need to be acquired.
