In a speech he offered to the Dominican community based in Brooklyn, the member of the political committee and vice president of the Dominican Liberation Party (PLD), Juan Ariel Jiménez, proposed to restructure the use of State resources to promote investment in infrastructure and quality basic services.
The political leader also expressed the urgency of depoliticizing the Ministry of Education and the teaching career, along with an intensive professionalization of the magisterial bodyas pillars to improve educational quality, during the conversation he held with the title “Present and Future of the Dominican Republic.”
Jiménez’s exhibition was held at the MARS Ministry prayer and worship center, in this city, with the attendance of members of the dominican diaspora, American citizens and members of the LDP.
This close meeting that the vice president of the PLD held with the Dominican community is part of a set of similar events in New York and other cities in USA scheduled for 2025.
During this conversation, the economist and academic addressed the economic and social reality of the country, highlighting the weaknesses of the current economic model and the opportunities for greater development, such as “nearshoring” and new technologies.
Jiménez also emphasized the need for a change in the Dominican Republic towards an economic model based on high productivity instead of low wages.
