With a vibrant holiday spirit and the promise of position Santa Cruz wines at national and international level, the wine producers of Samaipata celebrated the second version of the Cruceña Harvest Festival.
This event, which brings together tradition, art and flavor, marked the beginning of the grape harvest in the Santa Cruz valleysa work that will extend over the next two months.
The representative of Samaipata winegrowers, Francisco Roig, highlighted the importance of the festival as a space for meeting and promotion.
“This is the second festival we have held to celebrate the start of the harvest. We have had academic events, the traditional grape stomping, music, art and lots of celebration. This festival is growing, and new small wineries have joined, as well as producers from different places such as Pampa Grande, San Isidro and the Chaco of Santa Cruz.”, he noted.
In addition, he highlighted the pride that producing award-winning wines represents for Santa Cruz and Bolivia. “We invite you to this celebration of joy to drink the wines of Santa Cruz, which not only stand out in the region, but also raise the name of the country in high regard,” said Roig.
Carlos Sosa, producer and festival participant, shared his personal experience in this exciting world.
“This is our second participation in the harvest and our first time presenting Labú wines, a brand in honor of my grandmother. We work with varieties such as Malbec,Tanát, Chiraz, Muscat Alexandria and Marselán. All of this was born during the pandemic, when I decided to return to my agronomic roots. The results are here,” he expressed excitedly.
The festival is not only a showcase for the efforts of local winegrowers, but also a opportunity to strengthen tourism and the culture of the region. Samaipata, known for its natural and historical wealth, has established itself as a key destination for lovers of wine and tradition.
Visitors enjoyed two days full of activities that combined the magic of the harvest with the flavor of Santa Cruz wines, reaffirming that this event, in just two years, has already become an essential event in the cultural calendar of Santa Cruz.
