It was not enough for the PNP colonels to retire Harvey Colchado and Walter Lozano, now they also went against the agents of the Division of Investigation of Highly Complex Crimes (Diviac)the same agency that investigates Dina Boluarte and participated in the raids against the president.

The Minister of the Interior Juan José Santiváñez decided to remove 60 junior officers who belonged to the aforementioned directorate from their positions and change their dependency. Law enforcement officers will now pass areas that are not related to criminal investigation, such as penitentiaries, public security, hospitals, police stations, among others.

All of these police officers supported and were part of the Special Team of Prosecutors against the corruption of power (Eficcop), the same group that is in charge of investigating illegal acts committed by former presidents, presidents and authorities for their own benefit. (Full document here).

QUILTED HARVEY CASE

PNP Colonel Harvey Colchado was retired on December 16 through a controversial resolution signed by the Minister of the Interior, Juan José Santiváñez.

The measure has sparked controversy and the lawyer of the former head of Diviac assures that it is revenge for the role of his client in the raid on the house of President Dina Boluarte in March of this year for the ‘Rolex Case’.

As you remember, at that time, Harvey Julio Colchado Huamaní led the police team supporting the Special Team of Prosecutors against the corruption of power (Eficoop). However, this team was deactivated by the government of President Dina Boluarte in May, two months after her home was raided.

Months later, in November, the PNP colonel was caught dressed as a traffic police officer, guarding a Metropolitano station in the face of the transport strike announced for that date.

This situation was questioned because Colchado has extensive experience in criminal investigation, as well as in the fight against terrorism. In that sense, at the time it was pointed out that an important human resource was being wasted.
