After the violent death of the former congressional worker, Andrea Vidal, in a strange incident when she was aboard a taxi in La Victoria, whose driver was shot 70 times, a fact that would be related to an alleged pimping network in the Legislature, the The Oversight Commission of that State power has summoned a former official and four active officials to testify as part of the investigations.
The statements will begin at 11:00 am The first two to do so are key figures in these investigations.
The first to give his testimony is Jorge Luis Torres Saravia, the former head of the Parliament’s Legal Advisory Office, and who was Andrea Vidal’s boss.
Torres Saravia is a lawyer close to Alianza Para el Progreso (APP), César Acuña’s party that has taken over eight key positions in Parliament, and who would seek to shield the investigations.
This, because he was hired in that position – after entering Parliament in 2020 as an advisor to the current secretary general of APP, Luis Valdez – by the former head of Congress, Alejandro Soto.
This is the list of those summoned to testify this Friday at the Congressional Oversight Commission.
In 2023, he released a report that freed Soto from being investigated by the Ethics Commission for nepotism, for hiring the mother of his son in his office.
The document resolved that “there was no nepotism,” even though the fact was evident. Later, he continued in that position when Eduardo Salhuana, also an APP congressman, assumed the presidency of Congress.
Torres Saravia is accused of being the alleged leader of this pimping network and of the alleged recruitment of Andrea Vidal for these purposes, according to the hypothesis of the Oversight Commission.
FOUR OFFICERS
The second guest and first active official who will give her statement on this cause is Haydi Jenette Figueroa Valdez, current head of Human Resources, who is an APP activist.
She will be responsible, among other things, for the list of personnel that have been hired during the periods 2022, 2023 and 2024 for the leadership of the Legal and Constitutional Office of Congress.
The selection criteria and specialty of the personnel hired during the management of Torres Saravia, the filters of the personnel profile to occupy the various positions in that office, the names of those who signed the request for these hires, and all the information on the police records , criminal and judicial of Torres Saravia, is also part of what you will have to report.

THEY REQUEST EXIT FROM SALHUANA TO AVOID ACUÑIST SHIELD
On the other hand, five groups – Popular Action, Socialist Bloc, Popular Force, Honor and Democracy and Popular Renewal – have requested the departure of the president of Congress, Eduardo Salhuana, to avoid a coinist shield in the investigations into the death of Andrea Vidal and the pimping case.
Perú21 was the first media to report that Honor and Democracy, Fuerza Popular and Renovación Popular asked that Salhuana step aside so that there is transparency in the investigations because the main person involved is surrounded by APP and because eight key leaders in Congress They are run by militant leaders of that party.
That is, they could do the same thing that Saravia did with Soto: shield him.
So, to prevent this from being the chronicle of an announced shielding, they indicated that I take a step aside.
The newspaper Correo has reported that Acción Popular and the Socialist Bloc also support that position.
This Friday the 27th, when there will be a session of the Permanent Commission, it will finally be known if Salhuana decides to step aside or if he clings to his position, and he hopes that some bench can present a motion of censure against him so that it can be seen in a plenary session.
Last Friday, Salhuana pointed out that “the benches will decide” whether to censure him or not.
