Juan Cáceda Paredes, president of the aforementioned association, informed Correo that throughout the year he has approached the Regional Government of La Libertad to try to persuade Governor César Acuña Peralta to sign the agreement with the Public Health Insurance Fund Administrator Institution. Saludpol, but it has not been successful.

Request intervention

The leader said that he even requested the intermediation of the Ombudsman’s Office in La Libertad, but it was not enough for the regional authority to decide to sign said agreement.

Faced with this situation, he said that many police officers are forced to go to private clinics and doctors so that they can be treated, but due to the cost of the treatment they end up abandoning it.

“There are colleagues who are dying monthly due to lack of timely care. I have requested an audience with the governor (César Acuña), but they have not given me one. “They told me that I had to speak with the regional Health Manager, Aníbal Morillo Arqueros, but, despite the fact that we have already met three times, nothing concrete has been reached,” lament.

It should be noted that on November 11, the general manager of Saludpol, José Antonio Proaño Bernaola, and the regional governor of La Libertad, César Acuña Peralta, held a coordination meeting with the objective of finalizing the details for the next signing of the benefit agreement. health in the La Libertad region.

It was said that this agreement opens the possibility for members of the National Police of Peru and their families to receive the attention they deserve. That is, specialized and highly complex treatment in institutions such as the IREN.

In addition, it will strengthen the quality of care for policyholders, ensuring that they can receive the necessary care without having to travel outside the region.

Two months earlier, the manager of Saludpol, José Proaño, sent Official Letter No. 000425 to Governor César Acuña with a proposal for a health benefit exchange agreement, so that it could be reviewed.

At this point, it is important to point out that according to Regional Executive Resolution No. 2278-2029, all agreements, without exception, entered into by the regional government of La Libertad must be signed by the regional governor, unless the official designated is expressly designated. designate.
