The bodies of all the victims of the road accident on BR-116, in Teófilo Otoni (MG), this Saturday (21), will be sent to the Instituto Médico-Legal (IML) in Belo Horizonte. After identification, they will be released to their families.
To date, the number of deaths in the accident is 38. However, according to the Civil Police, the total number of deaths will only be defined after all victims have been identified.
Initially, the bodies were sent to the IML post in Teófilo Otoni, and a team even traveled to the municipality to help with the work. However, the Civil Police decided to concentrate the identification work in Belo Horizonte.
The accident occurred in the early hours of Saturday. According to preliminary information from the Federal Highway Police (PRF), a granite came loose from a trailer and hit a bus traveling in the opposite direction, causing a fire in the bus.
