The conductor and driver of an interurban transport bus was saved from certain death, after two criminals shot them seven times when they arrived at their last whereabouts, located at the UPIS Colina de San Fernando, in the district of Veintisirse de Octubre, in Piura. This event occurs a few days after the attack against the bus of the Super Star company.
This new attack against a public transport bus was recorded around 11 in the morning yesterday, Friday, when the bus of the Nueva Alternativa company with a P2S-933 running board arrived to park at its last whereabouts, located in the aforementioned sector and, suddenly, they were intercepted by two dangerous criminals aboard a motorcycle.
Only the conductor and the driver were on the bus, since minutes before, the last passenger had gotten off the vehicle. Suddenly, the thugs, without saying a word, brought out a firearm and fired seven times, most of the bullets landing at the height of the driver’s cabin.
Fortunately none of the bullets hit them, the collector suffered lacerations to his arms after jumping into the passage to save his life.
“Both the driver and the conductor threw themselves on the ground to save their lives,” the transporters indicated.

Personnel from the San Martín police station arrived at the scene, in addition to the head of the Police Order and Security Division of Piura, Colonel PNP Sergio Martín Monroy Díaz, the head of the Criminal Investigation Division, personnel from the Extortion section and the Criminalistics Office.
“As transporters we feel unprotected. We call on authorities such as the mayor and the police chief. We have not been extorted, they have not called us and we are surprised by what is happening right now…it is the first time,” said the manager of Nueva Alternativa, Fredesminda Curay.
He added that the Nueva Alternativa company has won two routes in the last tender offered by the Provincial Municipality of Piura.
Precisely, the police do not rule out that this shooting attack would be due to the struggle over the new public transport routes recently put out to tender by the Piura commune.
“We have won two routes and since we won, we have made enemies, we have fully identified the people who threaten us with death and we have reported it,” said a transporter.
