The renowned announcer from Santiago, José Miguel Romanpopularly known as “El Cafre”, lost his life this Saturday along with a man identified as Henry Andres Almonte in a traffic accident that occurred in Cabimota, La Vega province.
According to details from those present at the scene, the vehicle in which they were traveling hit a power line pole, causing the instant death of the communicator. The driver of the vehicle, identified as Miguel Antonio Muñoz, of Colombian nationality, suffered minor injuries.
The Dr. Luis Manuel Morillo King Regional Hospital confirmed the news, which has filled the union of communicators and the victims’ families with mourning.
