The “March of the Combatant People” this Friday

Líderes del régimen cubano posan ante cámara durante la marcha en La Habana

HAVANA, Cuba – Finally, in less than an hour and three quarters, the much announced and publicized “March of the Fighting People” called by the Cuban authorities for this Friday the 20th ended. If I had to characterize in a few words the importance (or lack of her) of that propaganda action undertaken by the Castro-communist regime, I would say: Many fewer citizens attended than they would have liked, but more than those who, in view of the catastrophe that Cuba is suffering, should have attended.

Of course, the delirious figure of half a million, announced in the Star Broadcast of the National Television News, is nothing more than a Castro-communist hallucination, and has nothing to do with what all of us who had a stomach strong enough to follow the broadcast contemplated. of the act on the small screen.

Manipulation has been present in all aspects of the parade. This began with the same selection of the chosen route: Instead of the very wide Paseo avenue, the Malecón was chosen, of which, in its widest part, in front of the Hotel Nacional, only the paths immediately to the coast were used, less of half the total width.

Of course, the mere fact of holding the event on a working day and hours highlights something obvious: the obvious manipulation that this selection entails; the possibility that it offers to boss around workers and students, ordering them to parade as if doing such a thing were part of their obligations.

But, in addition, other tricks were used to inflate the parade: some blocks that were not compact, which allowed large gaps to be seen on the busy road; use of flags that covered the entire width of the road, inexplicable arrests (which lengthened the duration of the event), repetition (in television images) of the same groups of protesters, which revealed the use of cameras located in different places . (This trick was used even with the same leaders who opened the march).

For this chronicler, what was most striking in the parade was the indifference shown by the majority of the participants. While it was going on, the communist agitators repeated over and over again the same “revolutionary slogans”. They almost never received the response from the public that one would expect from enthusiastic pro-government supporters, which is supposedly what the marchers were. But I insist that, although their reluctance revealed what their true feelings were, the mere presence of these people serves the regime to manipulate international public opinion (not national opinion, which knows perfectly well what the reality is).

The march was called against “the Great Satan” (as the filth ayatollahs who today are his great allies call him), against the “totí” to whom the Castro-communists blame the immense catastrophe that Cuba is suffering today. But it happens that, in these times of the internet and social networks, our people know perfectly well that the great cause of their many misfortunes is the disastrous system implemented and maintained by blood and fire by those mayimbeswho remain blind to all evidence and refractory to any rational idea.

In the call he made to this effect, the President of the Republic proclaimed the objective of expressing “the firmest and most forceful condemnation of the criminal blockade of the United States Government.” And in another passage of his speech: “Yes there is a blockade, yes the blockade has tightened, yes there is an economic war.” And this is said about the country that has been the main supplier of eggs and chicken and pork, the main dishes that can be accessed by Cubans on the Island who have a lot of money to pay the scandalous prices caused by the rampant Castro-communist inflation! !

In the long presentation that preceded the start of the transmissiona wish was insisted on: that the Biden government, in the thirty days of its remaining performance, take measures that favor the regime. This idea was even advocated by a “specialist” from MINREX (Ministry of Foreign Affairs), and ratified by Díaz-Canel in his speech that preceded the parade. This reflects the degree of desperation that afflicts the Castro-communists. They would be very happy if the current tenant of the White House lifts any of the current measures!… But don’t they know that on January 20, Donald Trump will take office, and he will be able to revoke that decision!

Another great mistake by the formal head of the single party and the State consisted of calling the parade at the end of the current session of the so-called “National Assembly of People’s Power”, also underlining that circumstance. As if the Cuban people had something to thank that meeting of trained seals who approve everything proposed by the leaders and have only deepened the helplessness and misery that they suffer!

This December session of the Assembly was a propitious framework for the brand new Prime Minister, in the height of impudence, to announce some of the most anti-popular measures that the current ones have come up with. mayimbes. And note that that is saying a lot!…

Thus, Mr. Manuel Marrero Cruz warned the population about the elimination of subsidies for the limited basic products that are delivered through the ration card (baptized by the regime with the euphemism “supply book”). As the Head of Government emphatically announced, for this decision “there is no going back.”

At a certain moment, the Premier, according to Cubita NOWacknowledged: “The majority of workers will not be able to cover the difference between the prices of basic products and salaries.” I emphasize: We are talking not only about the people that the regime classifies as “in a vulnerable situation”! Also “the majority of workers” will face difficulties in paying the new prices for the few products that appear in the “basic basket”!

As if the above were not enough, the recent meeting of the “Cuban parliament” was also characterized by an order given to the deputies by the nonagenarian old man who, without holding any official position, is recognized as “Leader of the Revolution.” The four-star general ordered him to stand up, raise his arms and clench his fists. And so they did immediately, like sheep, the hundreds of “representatives of the people”!… Or what did you think, dear readers! Smiles were seen and nervous giggles were also heard, in what can only be described as an irrefutable demonstration of the debasement in which those individuals who make up the “supreme organ” of power in our country are immersed.

As I already pointed out, the number of protesters was much lower than that desired by the leaders of the “Palace of the Revolution.” It is evident that fatigue with the calamities that Castro-communism has imposed on them represents, of course, the central element. But it is necessary to recognize that there were contributing factors. Among them, I highlight, due to the speed with which it was released, its artistic merit and its success, the song “Que voy el Sandro!”, created and distributed by Edmundo Dantés and Alian Aramís.

This work of art highlights a circumstance that is fundamental: that it is the paunchies favored by the system who must “make numbers” in the political events called by the regime. This is a great truth that ordinary Cubans (particularly those who agreed to participate in this Friday’s march) should internalize.
