The Public Ministry (MP) reported on the afternoon of this Friday, December 20, that between the 19th and the 20th of this month, 200 reviews of measures for defendants in the post-electoral context were agreed upon by the Judiciary.
“With these new approved requests, the number of 733 releases carried out within the framework of due process guaranteed by the Constitution of the Republic is reached,” the MP published in a statement posted on the social network Instagram.

The Prosecutor’s Office also announced that it will continue the review process of these cases in the coming hours. After the presidential elections, the Government of Nicolás Maduro imprisoned more than 2,200 people, according to figures from the same authorities.
Political repression was accentuated against opposition parties, where to date there are 170 party activists detainedthe largest number is against Vente Venezuela, an organization founded by María Corina Machado, with 58 members imprisoned.
Despite the recent releases, a kind of revolving door has been operating, where there are more and more complaints from activists, politicians and detained or missing people.
