Just yesterday, for example, in an extraordinary semi-in-person session, the Security Commission only approved its work plan, when the first regular period had already concluded, and authorized requesting an extension from the board of directors to discuss the 14 initiatives that it has received to date. moment.
When activities in the chamber were reduced to a minimum and the deputies already went on vacation, said commission agreed that its purpose is prepare opinions on initiatives, minutes and proposals with a point of agreement, with an objective, professional vision and collaborating with the different parliamentary groups
and keep in touch not only with the Ministry of Security, but with the citizens.
By agreement of the last legislature, the matters that were no longer reviewed by the commissions were discarded outright, so the current 66th Legislature started from scratch in the reception of reform proposals.
The commissions, in turn, were only installed, approved their work plans and opinions on the budget for the next year.
From September 1, when the Legislature began, until December 13, when the first period of sessions concluded, the Executive, the benches, the local legislatures and the Senate presented 564 initiatives, according to the Information Service for Parliamentary Statistics, of of which only 17 opinions were approved.
