ATT applies a fine of Bs 204,800 to BoA for delayed and canceled flights

The Telecommunications and Transport Regulation and Supervision Authority (ATT) fined Boliviana de Aviación (BoA) with 80,000 UFVs, which is equivalent to 204,800 bolivianos, in addition to opening eight processes for flight delays and cancellations.

“Yeah, we have those processes; The minister (of Public Works, Edgar Montaño) has instructed rigorous control and that is what we are doing,” responded Néstor Ríos, director of the ATT when asked at a press conference about whether BoA ​​was fined 80,000 UFVs.

On the other hand, he indicated that Between December 5 and 16, 277 delayed flights and 14 canceled flights were recorded, affecting 39,000 users. Of them, 5,333 passengers received their respective compensations.

“We show that there are delays due to various situations and a drag on flights due to a chain effect. In many cases, The causes are due to climatic situations that did not allow flights to be carried out in certain regions of the country,” he stated.

Ríos also added that, during this period, The ATT initiated eight sanctioning processes, of which four correspond to the first two weeks of December and the remaining four that began recently.

“The lack of access to clear and timely information for users during situations of impact It’s a recurring problem that BoA must solve. It is the company’s duty to properly inform, treat the passenger with respect and guide them to a solution,” Ríos emphasized.
