Santa Cruz already knows its new representatives in justice. The Departmental Electoral Tribunal (TED) completed 100% of the official count of the 2024 Judicial Elections on Thursday night and proclaimed Romer Saucedo Gómez as magistrate of the Supreme Court of Justice (TSJ), Carlos Spencer Arancibia as counselor of the Judicial Council (CM) and Rocío Vásquez Noza as magistrate of the Agro-environmental Court (TA).

How the vote closed

In the election for the Council of the Judiciary, Carlos Spencer Arancibia He obtained 390,945 votes, surpassing Manuel Baptista Espinoza, who obtained 283,067 votes. For the Agro-Environmental Court, Rocío Vázquez Noza She won with 364,294 votes, while María Soledad Peñafiel Bravo reached 133,093 votes.

Romer Saucedo Gómez obtained 738,457 votes for the Supreme Court of Justice. In second place was Mirian Rosell Terrazas with 717,681, who remains as a substitute.

“This is the result that we officially announce to Santa Cruz and Bolivia. Congratulations to the winners,” said the vice president of TED Santa Cruz, José Miguel Callejas, during the final presentation.

The three new judges have extensive experience and academic training:

Romer Saucedo Gómez (TSJ): Graduate in Law, with a Master’s Degree in Criminal Law and a Doctorate in Constitutional Law. He served as a Criminal Investigation and Anti-Corruption Judge, in addition to working as a university professor and criminal lawyer.

Rocío Vásquez Noza (TA): Graduate in Law, Master in Indigenous Rights and Sustainable Development. She has experience in legal management, resolution of agrarian and environmental conflicts, and in the defense of the rights of indigenous peoples and women.

Carlos Spencer Arancibia (CM): Graduate in Legal Sciences, with Masters in Criminal Law and Constitutional Law. He served as a disciplinary judge, legal advisor in various institutions and director of the Children’s Ombudsman in Puerto Suárez.

By-elections

In Santa Cruz, the elections were held partially due to the ruling of the Plurinational Constitutional Court that declared The call for the election of TCP authorities is void. For this reason, only the representatives were elected for the Supreme Court of Justice, the Council of the Judiciary and the Agro-Environmental Court.
