The Minister of Popular Power for Transportation, Ramón Velásquez Araguayán, was appointed as director in charge of the Simón Bolívar de Maiquetía International Airport Institute (IAIM), as announced through the Official Gazette number 43,029 dated December 16.
The gazette refers to Decree No. 5,060 “by which citizen Ramón Celestino Velásquez Araguayán is appointed as General Director of the Maiquetía International Airport Institute (IAIM), an entity attached to the Ministry of Popular Power for Transportation, as Manager” .
With his appointment he replaces Antonio Rojas Annette, who held the position since July 2023, according to Official Gazette number 42,668, after Decree 4,827.
Araguayán maintains his responsibilities as head of the Transportation office and as president of the Venezuelan Consortium of Aeronautical Industries and Aerial Services SA (Conviasa).
