49 days have passed since the fatal vehicle accident on the Huancayo Huancavelica highway, where a truck lost its way and fell into the Mantaro River, leaving one survivor and another missing.
Rosalvina Armes is the mother of the missing young man Hernán Sánchez Armes (27), whom she searches intensely every day until late at night. A week ago, she along with other relatives arrived in Jauja, after receiving information that they had seen a young man with the same characteristics, wandering around that city.
The mother of the family maintains faith that her son will be found alive, and for several weeks they have intensified the search at the accident site.
“César, (survivor and friend of the missing person), said that Hernán was no longer inside the vehicle before it submerged in the river,” says the mother.
The tragedy occurred on October 31 when friends Hernán and César were traveling from the central jungle to Ayacucho. They made a stop in Tarma to buy flowers. Both had communication with their loved ones hours before the tragic outcome.
