SANTIAGO RD. – The Northern Electricity Distribution Company (Edenorte) and the Electricity Supply and Supply Management Program (Pgase) carried out an operation in several sectors of this province, where illegal manipulations were detected in the energy distribution system.
The operation focused on strategic areas of the city, where irregularities in the measurement equipment were identified.
Upon inspection of the meters, it was discovered that some had been tampered with. These equipment were immediately confiscated, sheathed and sent to the laboratory of the Dominican Institute for Quality for analysis and verification. These interventions are part of the ongoing effort to eradicate electricity fraud in the DR, a crime that not only affects the energy system, but also endangers the safety of citizens.
