The Single Trial Court in Matters of Violence Against Women of Trujillo decreed a sentence consisting of 25 years in prison against Jesús Ignacio Espinoza Bustos (20) for his responsibility in the commission of a sexual act against his stepdaughter (14), reported the Public Ministry.
This event occurred on February 2, 2023 in his home, located in the La Catalina sector of the Buena Vista parish, belonging to the Monte Carmelo municipality, Trujillo.
During that day, the teenager was sleeping in her bed when she heard knocking on her window. Before getting up to investigate the noise, her stepfather stood on top of her, covered her mouth and forcibly took her out of the room towards the back of the house. There he took her clothing and threatened to kill her, the report says.
At that moment the teenager screamed for help. For her part, the mother realized the situation and went to the scene, where she found her daughter in her underwear while Espinoza fled the scene.
The girl told her mother what happened and the parent went to the Bolivarian National Police and filed a complaint. During the trial, the 9th Prosecutor’s Office of Trujillo charged Espinoza with the crime of sexual intercourse with a particularly vulnerable victim.

Another similar act was penalized in Trujillo. In this case, Ramón José Hernández Quintero (61) was sentenced by the 1st Trial Court of that entity to serve a sentence of 14 years in prison, after admitting his responsibility for committing sexual abuse against his five-year-old niece.
This event occurred on January 25, 2023 at the victim’s grandmother’s house, located in the San Luis parish, Valera, capital of Trujillo.
According to the investigation, during the aforementioned date the girl’s parent noticed that her daughter left her uncle’s room scared, adjusting her underwear and wanting to cry. When inquiring about what happened, the girl told her mother that she wanted to take a bath. The mother realized what happened and reported the incident to the Cicpc, whose agents captured the sexagenarian.
