A minor suffered a strong electric shock on the afternoon of December 17 while he was climbing a mango tree, on Carrera 25 and Calle 44, in the Mareigua neighborhood, Valledupar.

According to the media Radio Guatapuri, the accident occurred when the minor, while trying to reach some mangoes, made contact with a high-tension cable. The electric shock apparently left him unconscious, which alarmed passersby and residents near the scene.
In a video captured by the community, the child is seen being taken down from the tree by several people who, upon realizing the situation, acted quickly to help him. Fortunately, neighbors managed to get him down from the tree and immediately took him to a nearby medical center.
Although, until now, the minor’s health status is unknown, the incident has generated great concern among residents of the sector.
According to the aforementioned media, residents of the area have expressed concern about the presence of exposed high-voltage cables, which represents a serious danger to the community, especially to children playing in the streets.
Finally, they call on parents and caregivers to be attentive to children’s activities, especially in areas where there are electrical networks that may represent a risk.
