Santo Domingo. – The president Luis Abinaderreported this Thursday that the country has already been notified for the entry into force of the agreement Open Skies with the United States.
“Good news for the Dominican Republic! “We have been notified that the necessary procedures for the entry into force of the Open Skies air transport agreement between our country and the United States have been exhausted,” the president revealed in a message posted on his X account.
In the publication, the head of state also congratulated the commission that made it possible for the agreement to be finalized, coordinated by the Minister of Tourism, David Collado, and made up of Leonel Melo, Práxedes Castillo, Vice Minister Patricia Mejía and Natacha Domínguez, and which also had the support of Manuel Estrella, Mónika Infante and Frank Elías Rainieri.
According to the authorities, the Open Skies agreement with the United States will allow the Dominican Republic significantly transform your economy and international connectivity.
According to the Government and the private sector, the treaty will also contribute to delete several of the traditional restrictions on international flights, and will bring with it a series of benefits that will impact various sectors of the country.
Among them stands out the greater connectivitycompetitive prices, increase in the arrival of tourists from non-conventional states, facilitation of international trade and attraction of foreign investment.
