Resources for the Rouanet and Aldir Blanc laws will not be reduced in 2025. This is what the Minister of Culture, Margareth Menezes, said this Thursday (19). She participated in the program Good morning, Ministerproduced by Brazilian Communication Company (EBC).
Amid discussions on reducing federal government spending, the minister celebrated the maintenance of the R$15 billion for the Aldir Blanc Law and the R$3 billion for the Rouanet Law.
“We have our contribution, but we managed to maintain two important things. We managed to maintain the R$ 15 billion from the Aldir Blanc Law, the only thing that changed was the conditioning. The second contribution, he will have access to when he manages to execute 50% of the portion that he already has, because there is already a portion from last year of the Aldir Blanc Law. There was also no reduction, for example, for the Rouanet Law, we are still there with R$2 billion, R$2.5 billion, almost R$ $3 billion.”
The Aldir Blanc Law injects resources into states and municipalities until 2027. The Rouanet Law provides a discount on Income Tax for companies that sponsor projects approved by the Ministry of Culture.
Regarding the audiovisual sector, Margareth Menezes said that the Ministry of Culture wants to attack the bottlenecks in the sector.
“We have just implemented the annual investment plan for this year and next year, together with Ancine [Agência Nacional do Cinema]with the sector, we want to talk, dialogue to understand what needs to be done, what can be done in this sense, both to strengthen the issue of dissemination, and also to open other ways of distributing this production, nationally and internationally as well “, said Margareth Menezes.
The minister also defended the regulation of platforms streamingwhich does not yet exist in Brazil. He said that this is important to avoid loss of resources and rights in the audiovisual sector.
