Obtaining a Class B II driver’s license is a mandatory step for those who want to ride a motorcycle in Peru. “Our purpose is to guarantee a correct evaluation, which allows citizens to verify their skills and knowledge in driving motorcycles.“, indicated Juan de la Cruz, manager of the Touring Evaluation Center.
In this sense, the Touring and Automobile Club of Peru, the evaluation center in charge of driving and knowledge evaluations for obtaining licenses in Lima, provides a detailed guide on the requirements and steps necessary to access a motorcycle driver’s license. .
REQUIREMENTS FOR THE DRIVER’S LICENSE B II-A and B II-B
To obtain a license in subcategories B II-A or B II-B, applicants must meet the following requirements:
- Age minimum: 18 years old.
- Identity Document: Peruvians: DNI (original, current and photocopy). Foreigners: Immigration Card, Identity Card, PTP, Applicant or Asylum Card (original, current and photocopy).
- Health Certificate: It is necessary to present a Health Certificate for class B Driver’s Licenses.
- Payment for Right to Evaluation: The cost of the Driving Knowledge and Skills Evaluation is S/70.04 (does not include vehicle rental).
- Knowledge Assessment: The applicant must take and pass the Knowledge Assessment at the Touring Assessment Center.
- Driving Skills Assessment: The practical evaluation for this category is carried out at the Conchán headquarters, where the applicant must demonstrate their driving skills on a linear motorcycle.

- Bank payment: Available through Scotiabank, BanBif, BBVA and BCP.

BII-C DRIVER’S LICENSE REQUIREMENTS
The B-II-C driver’s license also allows the driving of motorcycle taxis and tricycles (three-wheeled vehicles) intended for the transportation of passengers. To obtain it, the following is required:
- Proof of completion of the Driver Training Program – COFIPRO (original and a photocopy).
- Additional requirements: Meet all the requirements mentioned for category B-II-A or B-II-B.
In all cases, the authority in charge of the procedure must verify in the National Sanctions System that the applicant is not disqualified or suspended.
