Vente Venezuela reported the disappearance of Ramón Bejarano, human rights activist and regional coordinator of Citizen Associations of the organization with political purposes in the state of Bolívar. Relatives of the citizen told the awning that they do not know where he is since Tuesday, December 17.

According to Vente Venezuela, Ramón Bejarano was going to attend a meeting with retirees in that entity, but he never arrived. The organization accuses the government of Nicolás Maduro of being responsible for the disappearance of the activist in the aforementioned entity.

«Family and colleagues do not know his whereabouts. We demand information about Ramón Bejarano,” Vente Venezuela wrote on its social networks.

Bejarano is known in Bolívar for his work as a defender of the labor rights of public workers. The leader has accompanied retirees in their demands for fair wages and contractual benefits.

If it is an arrest, this would be the fourth of a political leader in Bolívar since December 10. Activists and human rights defenders have denounced the arrest of opposition activists and militants Jorge Francisco Sambrano, activist of the Democratic Action party; Álvaro Mora, organization coordinator of Vente Venezuela; and Edgar Sarabia, municipal coordinator of this same party in Angostura del Orinoco.

Organizations have reported that although some political prisoners have been released in the post-electoral context, other arrests have also been recorded. The NGO Foro Penal describes this situation as the “revolving door” phenomenon.
