Cuba: between hypocrisy and the myth of support for the “Revolution”

cubanet-cuba-marcha

PUERTO PADRE, Cuba.- A hoax, clinching a myth planted in Cuba already in 1959 and spread throughout the world like an invasive plant, these days has been launched again as a hook to catch bait sardines, trying, yes,! of course!, to increase the string of cousins. It turns out that, according to studies carried out on behalf of the Cuban Communist Party (PCC), the “support” of Cubans for the dictatorship called “Revolution” and its “leaders” is “majority.”

For those who have forgotten, it is useful to remember that in 1959 many Cubans nailed to their doors a brass sign painted red and black – the colors of the July 26 Movement – with a sign saying: “This is your house, Fidel,” for June 1960, according to a survey by the magazine Bohemia Before being expropriated, 42.66% of Cubans opposed the Castro dictatorship, still in its infancy and without proclaiming its communist roots, when it denied the electoral process that should have been called in compliance with the democratic elections, multiparty and universal promises in the Manifesto to the People of Cuba, signed in the Sierra Maestra on July 12, 1957.

From then on, the persecution of Cubans for their political ideas opposed to the dictatorship Castro and the communist ideology has been constant. And if those who took up arms or conspired to overthrow the dictatorship that euphemistically copied the Marxist motto of “dictatorship of the proletariat” were accused, prosecuted in summary trials and sentenced to prison terms or execution for “counterrevolutionary crimes,” Those who did not take up arms or conspire to help the rebels, regardless of whether they were men, women, girls or boys, adolescents or the elderly, were branded of “collaborators”, displacing them from their places of origin to areas of captivity. Thus, just as Weyler, Hitler and Stalin did, Fidel Castro and his closest followers did.

For any Cuban, whether professional, student, worker, farmer, intellectual or woman at home, in any city, town or neighborhood, the worst misfortune that could happen was to be branded as “apathetic to the Revolution” by the snitches of the Committees for the Defense of the Revolution (CDR), which in their best times had in their headquarters municipal with an officer from the XI State Security Unit.

Segregation between neighbors, police harassment, expulsion from work or study, or even marital or family breakdown, could end much further, in jail, after a criminal process that concluded in “courts revolutionaries.”

On other occasions I said and now I repeat that the call by the PCC commissioners for “double standards”, the political and civic corruption and the embezzlements that already amount to billions in different stages of the Castro-communist regime, have their origin in the totalitarian State that (mis)governs Cuba since January 1, 1959 and until the present.

It is not unusual then for thieves to say that they are “revolutionaries”, as many people who, having participated in the regime, went to live in the United States but come to spend their vacations in Cuba claim to be “revolutionaries”.

No. Let it not be said that Cubans – except the convinced ones and it remains to be seen if there are any – support the “Revolution”; Let’s say that in Cuba there are what in operational psychology we call defense mechanisms. So then you will understand why “support for the Revolution” is a myth and the Cuban nation is a people of hypocrites.
