The Minister of the Interior, Juan José Santiváñez Antúnezdenied that the retirement of the former head of the High Complexity Crime Investigation Division (Diviac) of the National Police, Harvey Colchadois linked to the raid on President Dina Boluarte’s house, which occurred at the end of last March.
“The resolution [suprema publicada en el diario oficial El Peruano] “It adequately exposes the legal bases for the transition to retirement,” he said on the RPP TV program Test by Fire.
Santiváñez asserted that the measure does not constitute “a sanction” and emphasized that “all the benefits” of the PNP colonel are recognized, including a “salary of the next higher grade,” although he does not officially hold it.
As part of the process, the controversial minister assured that a recognition ceremony will be held for his services to the nation.
WHAT COLCHADO SAID
The retired PNP colonel, Harvey Colchado, spoke yesterday about the decision to have been removed from police service and said he knew that the “war against the corruptive cancer in power would bring retaliation.”
Colchado, in a statement, points out that the police team came to be described as “the moral reserve of the PNP.” In addition, he highlighted that between 2017 and 2020 he was able to carry out actions against ‘Los Cuellos Blancos’, Odebrecht, the Ministry of Housing, the Ministry of Transportation, among others.
“All of this generated lifelong hatred in me from many political outlets, and they banished me in 2021 to Chiclayo and removed 97 DIVIAC officers in retaliation, for simply continuing with our ideology that is summarized in ‘doing the right thing without fear'” , he indicated.
