Santo Domingo.- In anti-fraud operations carried out by Edesur Dominicana brigades, some 1,015 illegal electrical connections were dismantled and work was done to regularize the service to hundreds of users in the provinces of San Juan, Barahona, Neiba, Elías Piña and Azua.
In San Juan, 57 illegal connections were disconnected in the sectors Buena Vista and San Carlos, from the municipal district of Sabana Alta, where various types of cables used for the theft of electricity were seized, including sweet wire, telecommunications and barbed cables.
In Barahona, 75 disconnections were carried out in the localities Villa Central, Paraiso and Cabral, while, Another 10 were detected in the center of the town of Neiba.
In Elías Piña, the operations focused on regularizing the service to 450 users in the Guanito community, who owe the company more than 2 million 164 thousand pesos.
Before proceeding to dismantle the irregular connections, a commission of the departments of Losses and Social Management visited the place and spoke with residents directly connected to the system, to whom it was explained that the goal is to regularize the service of all electricity consumers.

The company offered facilities to users, such as payment agreements for those with debts and/or outstanding accounts.
In addition, those who lacked meters and contracts were immediately regularized and users were invited to go to the commercial office corresponding to their district for quick and efficient attention.
Similarly, in Azua, actions were implemented to eradicate irregular connections and promote the regularization of users.
During an intervention in the municipality of Estebanía, 18 homes in Los Jovillos and another 13 in the community of Amiama Gómez were disconnected. 400 meters of Triplex cable were placed in the area as part of an agreement with the community, and more than 70 users were regularized, who are now part of the client portfolio.
Additionally, on Colón and Santiago Mañón streets, in the El Framboyán community, there were 14 disconnections and, in Hatillo, the company intervened a conventional network on the main street that supplied more than 100 users.
Also, a network of civil cables that irregularly connected a small neighborhood near the main highway of Hatillo was dismantled, with more than 200 illegal connections. The loss reduction team managed to regularize the service of eight users who were directly connected to the network without proper metering and with outstanding debts.
Edesur called on users who have not yet regularized their energy service to go to the nearest commercial offices and formalize their contracts, thus guaranteeing an electricity supply with adequate quality and security.
