It will be carried out no later than the first week of February,” said Valenzuela.

According to the portal of the Chilean Ministry of Agriculture, regarding the Chilean initiative, the president of the Association of Pisco Producers AG Pisco Chile, Francisco Munizaga Muñoz, stated: “It is much more than documents and much more than a photo, this is presented As an intangible heritage, it is the culture behind pisco, it is obviously the area, but there are also the productive activities, the trades, the knowledge, basically the culture behind this industry.”

Reactions

The former head of the General Archive of the Nation of Peru, Ricardo A. Moreau Heredia, stated that producers, exporters, academia, civil society and committed citizens look with astonishment at the inaction of the Ministry of Culture.

He highlighted that the Peruvian minister of the sector, Fabrizio Valencia, received on August 30 of this year from the producers of the five pisco regions the file with the proposal to declare “the artisanal process for the production” as cultural heritage of the nation. of pisco” and the subsequent recognition of wineries and vineyards for the traditional production of pisco, but to date there has been no significant progress.
