Espinoza stated that after the results of the expertise, it was decided to move on to the next stage where more information about the case will be collected.
“In principle, the Public Ministry only has to base itself on objective elements. And from what we have found in said folder, there is expertise. The preliminary phase is to collect urgent, necessary, and unpostponable procedures. In reality, what we do not want is for the preliminary investigation to continue to be distorted. And, since we already have an expert report that shows an alleged imbalance, we are moving to the next stage, which is the preparatory investigation. “It is not an accusation,” he explained to the aforementioned program.
“It is not an accusation, it is a stage where with judicial intervention, guaranteeing, more information will be collected,” he said in ‘Punto Final’ and clarified that Pérez “is within his right” to continue in his position because the accusation “is not “so serious to remove it” from the cases he directs.
