AREQUIPA, Peru – The young Cuban Karildi Caridad Marín was missing on the Island for one year this Saturday, December 14, her relatives lamented on social networks.
“Today my sister Karildi has been missing for one year, it is very hard for the family not to know what could have happened to her, a year of great sadness,” wrote Yoandri Marín on Facebook.
At the time of her disappearance, Caridad Marín resided in Párraga, Havana. The young woman was then 24 years old, with mixed-race skin and a height of 1.57 cm, according to information from family members and feminist platforms that have continued to ask for help to find her.
“We only ask God to protect her from all evil and to give us the strength to live with a doubt as destructive as her disappearance… We love you my sister. Your parents, your brothers and your girl, you will always be in our hearts and in our thoughts,” said his brother.
To facilitate the search efforts, Yoandri Marín left the telephone number 50757363, where you can obtain information about the whereabouts of his sister. In this regard, in previous publications he has assured to keep the identity of any person who helps find her anonymous.
Last February, more than two months after her disappearance, the family publicly ruled out the possibility that the young woman had left the Island.
“It has been 67 days since my sister disappeared and there is still no news. “She did not leave the country because her passport is at home,” Marín clarified in a publication.
In the midst of the wave of violence that is going through Cubareports of people missing are becoming more frequent, as are requests for help through social networks in search of information.
The Cuban State does not implement any mechanism to make cases of missing persons visible, such as the Amber alert used in USAnot even if they are minors or the elderly.
To report cases of disappearance, activists recommend that relatives fill out the missing person alert form that makes the search and pressure on authorities more effective.
