The Rodeo I

In the El Rodeo I Judicial Confinement Center, located in the state of Miranda, there are political prisoners and detainees for other reasons. A maximum security annex was built last year, under the supervision of the Ministry of Penitentiary Service. Relatives of political prisoners held there describe the facility as a maximum security prison and the country’s “new torture center” due to the questioned conditions of confinement, which violate international regulations.

For her part, the lawyer and human rights defender Tamara Suju, published on her X account, a video with images of the surroundings of El Rodeo I, and noted that this prison is guarded by the General Directorate of Military Counterintelligence (Dgcim). .
