As if Petroperu was not in crisis, the president of the state oil company, Alejandro Narváez, revealed that they had already officially communicated to Perupetro the interest in continuing to manage lots I, VI and Z-69 located in Talara.

Currently, the state company manages these lots, but that license was granted temporarily and ends next year. For this reason, Perupetro has called for a tender, in which the state company could participate, although Narváez has indicated that many restrictions are placed.
Analysts Anthony Laub and Arturo Vásquez told this newspaper that the operation of these wells cannot be awarded by hand, and indicated that if Petroperú decides to participate in the concession process, it is most likely that it will not win because, among other things, , as of September, recorded losses of more than US$745 million.
Furthermore, they considered that if the lots were handed over to the oil company, it would be an unconstitutional measure, with functional irresponsibility, and a bad sign for investments.
DATA
According to Perupetro’s schedule, the evaluation of proposals and granting of the approval for lots I and VI will be carried out on February 24.
Anthony Laub and Arturo Vásquez stated that Petroperú could partner with another company to participate in the tender.
