The Plenary of Congress of the Republic approved an opinion that establishes economic compensation for the troops of the National Police of Peru (PNP) who, voluntarily, carry out patrol work and investigative operations during their days of rest or vacation. The ruling was approved with 100 votes in favor and was exempt from a second vote.
The measure was promoted by the Budget and General Account Commission of the Republic at the proposal of the Ministry of the Interior and was supported by Lady Camones, president of said commission.
As Camones explained, this additional payment will be independent of any other remuneration or bonus that police officers receive according to current regulations.
According to the project, police officers who take advantage of this measure must complete seven uninterrupted hours of patrolling, either on foot or in vehicles, or participate in specific investigative operations.
