Santo Domingo.- The Emergency Operations Center (COE) placed four provinces on yellow alert and while maintaining 10 on green, due to the moderate to heavy rains that continue to occur, accompanied by possible thunderstorms and gusts of wind.
The provinces in yellow alert They are: Dajabón, Puerto Plata, Monte Cristi and Santiago Rodríguez.
On the other hand, On green alert are: María Trinidad Sánchez, Espaillat, El Seibo, Samaná, La Altagracia, Valverde, Hermanas Mirabal, Hato Mayor, Duarte and Santiago.
The COE expects rainfall to extend to nearby areas and intensify in the afternoon and at night.
Therefore, the population is recommended to refrain from crossing rivers, streams and ravines with high volumes of water in the provinces under alert.

The National Institute of Meteorology also recommended that operators of fragile, small and medium-sized vessels remain in port due to dangerous waves and moderate to strong wind with occasional gusts.

In its report, Meteorology explained that this weather pattern is a consequence of a low pressure system that affects the national territory.
Rainfall will continue in the next 72 hours, so Indomet maintains thes weather alerts due to the risk of river flooding, streams and ravines, as well as urban and rural flooding and landslides.
As for temperatures, they are expected to remain pleasant to cool, especially in mountainous areas, due to the moderate to strong wind from the north and the time of year.
By tomorrow, Sunday, the low pressure system is expected to begin to weaken and become a trough that will continue to affect weather conditions, with cloudiness, showers, thunderstorms and gusts of wind throughout the day.
