SLP, Mexico.- The Cuban embassy in Syria It was evacuated after the invasion of a group of rebels into the diplomatic headquarters, as could be seen from statements by Brazilian diplomats and publications by Cuban Government officials on social networks.
Although the regime’s official press has not contributed details of the fact, in the profile of the civil servant Ivette Martínez confirms that the members of the consular headquarters were transferred to the Cuban embassy in Lebanon.
Martínez’s publication, made this Friday, is accompanied by a photo of the Head of Mission, Emilio Pevida Sánchez, and the rest of the equipment in Lebanon.
“This photo fills me with pride and tranquility, they are the members of our diplomatic mission in Syria evacuated to the Cuban Embassy in Lebanon,” he wrote.
In the comments to the note, Pevida himself said that they went through “hell,” without adding more about the events that occurred.
“Thank you for your words of encouragement and concern Ive, the truth is that we have been through hell, but we are still in combat and looking good,” he wrote.
The Cuban ambassador in Syria Luis Mariano Fernández Rodríguezfor its part, also published photos of the consular officials evacuated in Lebanon and expressed with a triumphalist air: “A team of excellence in complex moments always wins despite and against any obstacle that stands in the way. We are united by the ideas and invaluable legacy of our invincible Commander in Chief. Until Victory Always! Long live Cuba, socialist, revolutionary and rebel.”
Break into the Cuban embassy
Despite the silence of the Cuban authorities, this week, Brazilian ambassador André Santos explained to the media Or Globe that armed groups tried to invade the Cuban diplomatic residence in Damascus days ago.
